Cod conference

» 2005

» 2008

In recent years the farming industry seems to have lost interest in cod farming and the production of farmed cod has stagnated. Research and development work has been carried out for many years but there are still many challenges to be met before cod farming will become economical.  Some of these challenges involve preventing sexual maturation, developing vaccines and increasing growth rate with selective breeding.

The main aim of the conference is to give overview of the industry and try to estimate how many years of development it will take before break even will be reached in cod farming in the Nordic countries?

This is the fourth Nordic Cod Farming Conference. The first conference was held in February 2003 in Bergen, second and third in Reykjavík, September 2005 and September/October 2008.
